What an incredible story, Michele! This highlights how genuine care and action build trust, not just in people but in brands as well. Peak City Puppy didn’t just claim to value animals and their owners but they showed it in every way that mattered. So glad Ollie made it home safe (even if he’s now grounded forever).

Thanks, Neela! I'm so very, very thankful to have Ollie home safe and sound. That little rascal had me scared to death for DAYS (and nights)! Yes. Peak City Puppy — which is a small, local business — really did show up in all the ways that matter. And they do that ALL of the time. I really admire how they've always run their company. It's a case study of how to build a passionate and loyal customer base.

Omg. Ollie looks just like my old cat Ow. Named because that's the only thing we ever said to him as a kitten. Ow (an inside cat) got out when I was 8 months pregnant and incredibly hormonal. Despite 50 stapled posters (no social media in those days), Ow stayed missing for 5 days. After 5 days I opened the back door and he wandered in and plopped down on the living room floor and started washing himself as if to say, "what's all the crying about!."

What a great story, Lisa-Marie!! My guess is that those five days were AWFUL!!! And then the nerve of Ow to just wander back in as if he'd been on a little holiday. Thanks for sharing!!

Oh my goodness Michele, I was on the edge of my seat hoping you found him! 🐈

I guess after 13 years seeing the world was on his bucket list. Anyway, if you really want to build a brand doing the bare minimum isn't going to cut it. But when you step up and help out even when it's "not your job" that's what makes the difference and sets you apart. Because so many barely do the bare minimum anymore.

EXACTLY, Bette. Brands that champion their customers in ways that go beyond the expected are going to be the ones that thrive in a world that's becoming increasingly competitive, crowded and complex.

You are so right and yet, so many take the attitude of: it’s not my job…

Will do!

And I know that feeling! My dog that I had to say goodbye to last year was like Indiana Jones. She’d go off adventuring (acres of forest!) and then just end up back here an hour later.

It’s a horrible feeling.

So glad he’s home with you!
